Battery Terminology

 

Cold Cranking Amps - CCA:

The current in amperes that a new fully charged battery can deliver. The higher the CCA rating, the higher the battery’s engine-cranking ability.

 

Amp Hour Capacity – AH:

The current or amps a new fully charged battery can deliver continuously over 20 hours. This rating is normally used for deep cycle batteries.

 

Reserve Capacity – RC:

Is the time in MINUTES a battery can supply the electrical load of vehicle once the charging system has failed.
